Fold edge of the sheet over the one-half inch, wrong sides. Fold the edge another half inch. Fall all the way around the sheet. Measure eight inches on the length and the width of each corner seam. At eight-inch mark, remove the stitches from the hem of about an inch. Fold the end of the elastic and pin it on the safety pin.
Sew the hem back in place with elastic sticking out of the openings. Trimming elastic. Place the fabric right side down on a flat surface. At each end of the fabric, fold the end of two and a half inches, right sides. Turn one half inch of this flap and top stitch. Fold the entire piece of fabric in half, right sides together. Turn the pillowcase right out and press it flat on the country house toile bedding.
