Laminate stair tread covers – Laminate flooring can be an inexpensive and also attractive way to refinish your stairs. How do? Cut your laminate and stairs leading edge (usually included with laminate stair kit) to length of your steps with a circular saw. Place riser ahead of first staircase. Line up notch on bottom of cutting edge piece with riser. And then mark position of cutting edge piece on top of first stage with a pencil. Remove riser piece and put a wavy line of glue across bottom of cutting edge piece. And then replace it where you marked its position.
Nail nosing piece on floor by means of finishing nails every six inches in area that will be overlapped by flat floor piece. Then place a wavy line of glue on floor piece (or tread). And then push it into position against leading edge of tongue piece. Connection of laminate stair tread covers is always tongue and groove style. So you will always know that tongue. And groove of tread facing forward in connection with tongue and groove in forefront.
Place a line of glue on riser piece. And press it firmly in place under overhanging lip of nosing, slotting it in shallow groove. Which you used to place forefront in Step second. Cut a piece of quarter-round molding to fit in corner between riser and tread. And then secure it with finishing nails. And the laminate stair tread covers is done.
