Disposable wedding plates – Once you have selected table linens, centerpieces and name cards that match your wedding stationery, start planning your table setting. Talk to your wedding day caterer and reception venue wedding planner about available cutlery, crockery, glasses and cloth napkins. You may need to rent or purchase additional table setting accessories to complete your dream wedding table setting.
Wedding cutlery range from simple brushed silver for detailed monogram tools. Choose a style that coordinates with rest of your reception information. If your wedding cake features a large monogram, duplicate check cutlery. Ask to see every piece you need – including butter knives, oyster forks and dessert forks. Place all pieces in use, starting at outside of disposable wedding plates. Short-tined salad fork or cocktail forks rest on far left, followed by fork. To right of plate is knife, spoon. If a soup course will be served soup spoon rests on far right.
Use cloth napkins for formal wedding dinners. Leave monogrammed cocktail napkins on table cake for use with dessert for guests. Cloth napkins can lie on top of a charger, a china plate, and cutlery or fits nicely tucked inside a wine glass. Napkins placed on a disposable wedding plates, use a napkin ring or fold to make it look elegant. If you choose to place napkin of cutlery, let it surface.
